Research Guide는 도서관에서 소장하고 있는 다양한 학술 자료 중 학부 또는 학과별로 학습 및 연구 활동에 참고할 수 있는 자료를 소개하고 이용 방법을 안내하는 “온라인 학술자료 가이드”입니다.

What is References?

  • 특정 분야 혹은 개별 개념에 관하여 간단하고 명료하게 정리된 정보를 얻고자 할 때 유용한 자료 (References are designed to help you find specific and simple information about specific field or words.)
    • 세부 주제를 찾기위한 전반적인 개념 확인 (overviews of subjects to help you find a topic)
    • 배경지식 확보 (background information and key facts)
    • 중요한 단어나 개념의 정의 (definitions of important words or concepts)
    • 추가 정보 제시 (suggestions for more sources)
  • 종류에는 백과사전, 사전, 편람 등이 있음 (Encyclopedia, Dictionary, Handbook, etc.)

Britannica Encyclopedia Online Academic Edition

The foundation of Britannica Online is the Encyclopedia Britannicathe largest, most authoritative encyclopedia in the world. Besides topical articles, it includes maps, photos, illustrations, videos, multimedia clips, and yearbooks from 1993 onward.

It also includes easy access to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary & Thesaurus.

Some very cool features of Britannica Online are the interactive timelines on a range of topics, from architecture to women’s history, as well as side-by-side country comparisons.

Additional research tools are the World Data Analyst, a World AtlasNotable Quotations, and Gateway to the Classics.
