What is WRDS?

• Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a web-based business data research service from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. WRDS provides the user with one location to access over 200 terabytes of data across multiple disciplines, such as Accounting, Banking, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Marketing, and Statistics.
• WRDS는 펜실베니아대학교 경영대학원인 Wharton School에서 제공하는 웹 기반 정보서비스 플랫폼으로 전 세계 주요 벤더에서 제공하는 다양한 경제, 재정, 마케팅 데이터베이스를 단일플랫폼을 통해 이용할 수 있습니다.

How to Use? 

• All UNIST members need to create an account to use WRDS. The user account must be created with UNIST email address.
• WRDS를 이용하기 위해서는 반드시 UNIST 이메일로 개인계정을 생성하여 기관담당자의 승인을 받아야 합니다.

1. Compustat

• Compustat is a database of financial, statistical and market information on active and inactive global companies throughout the world. It provides more than 300 annual and 100 quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and supplemental data items on more than 24,000 publicly held companies.
• Standard Poor’s 사에서 제공하고 있는 북미 지역 및 국제 재무정보 제공 데이터베이스

1. Compustat North America: The annual and quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and supplemental data items on most publicly held companies in the United States and Canada. – 북미 24,000여 개 기업들의 연간 자료 및 분기별 재무자료 제공 (상장 및 상장폐지기업 자료, 주가정보)
2. Execucomp: Extensive, transparent executive compensation data. – 기업경영 간부진들의 보수에 관한 자료 제공

2. CRSP(Center for Research in Security Prices)

• The Center for Research in Security Prices maintains the most comprehensive collection of security price, return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and Nasdaq stock markets.
• 미국 Chicago 대학교 GSB에서 제공하는 미국 주식 정보데이터베이스로 뉴욕증권거래소, 아메리칸증권거래소, 나스닥 데이터 제공

3. Eventus

• Eventus performs event studies using data read directly from CRSP stock databases or pre-extracted from any source.
• CRSP Stock 데이터베이스를 활용한 event study 데이터 제공
• Event Study: 배당, 유상증자, 합병 및 인수, 이익공시 등과 같은 기업의 고유한 사건들(firm-specific events)이 해당기업의 주식가격에 미치는 영향을 평가하는 연구방법론

4. TAQ (Trade and Quote)

• Contains intraday transactions data (trades and quotes) for all securities listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), American Stock Exchange (AMEX), as well as Nasdaq National Market System (NMS) and SmallCap issues.
• 뉴욕증권거래소(NYSE)에서 제공하는 매매거래정보(Trade & Quote) 제공
• Daily TAQ 데이터 이용 가능 (2003~Current), SAS 형식으로 데이터 추출 가능

• 공급사: 한국상장회사협회

• 상장법인(KOSTPI, KOSDAQ)및 외감법인의 각종 정보를 사용자의 선택에 따라 다양한 형태의 분석자료로 추출 및 다운로드 할 수 있는 데이터베이스

• TS2000 (Total Solution 2000, 상장협DB)

 ※ 프로그램 설치 후 이용 가능

1. 프로그램 다운로드: Click (UNIST IP대역에서만 가능)
2. 우측 ‘TS2000’ 메뉴의 ‘바로 실행하기’ 클릭, ‘TPLSvc_Setup’ 파일 다운로드 및 실행

※ 이용 방법 (자세한 이용 방법은 프로그램 설치 후 매뉴얼 참고)

1. 회사 선택: KOSPI, KOSDAQ 및 외감법인 중 선택하고 자료와 기간으로 구분하여 결과도출을 위한 시작 단계
2. 데이터 선택: 회사선택에서 조건 부여된 대상기업을 기준으로 필요한 자료 선택
3. 조건 실행: 회사 및 자료선택에서 조건 부여된 기업을 대상으로 기간과 출력조건 선택
4. 결과 반출: 기간 및 조건선택된 자료를 실행하여 Excel 형태로 출력 및 저장 가능

2. DataGuide

• 공급사: FnGuide

• 국내기업들의 주식, 재무, 경제 등 금융관련 데이터를 효과적으로 조회, 편집 및 활용 할 수 있는 투자분석 프로그램으로 Excel 기반 데이터 제공
