Pilsa: A Time to Reflect Through Writing
Pilsa, the practice of slowly copying meaningful sentences by hand, offers a special opportunity to pause amid the busyness of daily life and reflect on yourself through writing. To welcome the new semester, UNIST Library has prepared a participatory humanities program that combines humanities lectures with hands-on pilsa and reflective writing activities.In particular, 6 of the 10 sessions will focus on self-directed pilsa and writing activities, giving participants the opportunity not only to listen to lectures, but also to write, reflect, and think more deeply. We warmly welcome your interest and participation.

Study Lounge, 4th Floor, Academic Information Center (Bldg. 202)
📌 Schedule
Tuesdays at 6:30 PM / Fridays at 3:00 PM
※ Writing materials for pilsa practice, including a fountain pen and notebook, will be provided once at your first participation. Please keep them for use in later sessions.
※ To help ensure the smooth operation of the program, we kindly ask that only those who can participate on a continuing basis apply.
📌 Speakers
Sunyoung Kim
Author of Writing Improves Just by Copying, she introduces ways to read sentences deeply and develop them into one’s own language through pilsa and writing. In Sessions 1 and 3, she will explore the meaning of pilsa, the beginning of self-expression, literacy, and the power of close reading.
Hyunseok Oh
Professor in the Department of Korean Language Education at Pusan National University, he will guide participants in exploring new ways of understanding sentences through literary reading and humanistic reflection. In Sessions 5 and 7, he will examine the possibilities of reading and writing through literary pilsa, creative reinterpretation of texts, and self-reflection.

This program is recognized as a Leadership AU program.
Students who attend 8 or more out of 10 sessions will receive 1 AU. Attendance at Session 10 is required.
